An Afghan-Belgian grew up in Brussels, where she did her humanities. A Law graduate from University of London, School of Oriental and African studies, with a particular interest in South Asian Legal systems, and current Master student for Peace, Conflicts and Development at the University of Jaume I in Castellon, Spain.

Within the small Afghan community in Belgium, she volunteered and shadowed the work of the elders, where administrative and cultural integration help was offered to the community already established but also to the newly arrived one.

She had the opportunity to gain work experience in the Ministry of Finance (Kabul, Afghanistan). The legal department of Budget helped her to be familiar with the Afghan Legal System, where international contracts, agreements and fund distributions were the main taught/discussed areas.

This experience helped her to have an idea of the Afghan financial struggle within their laws and their politics. It assisted her to write her mini-thesis on Afghan minerals for her global commodities subject.

She also shadowed a coordinator of Monitoring and Investigation Unit in the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC), where she gained valuable experience and understanding of the current but mainly local situation of Afghan young detainees.  AIHRC helped her to be familiar with the international agreements, treaties and the Afghan Criminal Law on children in conflict zones. Her work involved collecting data and visiting the Kabul Youth Detention Centre for interviews and investigation on their fair treatments (by the institution itself and their lawyers).
Tooled with several languages and a fair understanding of Afghanistan and its work atmosphere, she is planning to be established there in order to gain more field experience before re-interring further studies.
